Vancouver Fund Spots Positive Impact in Creative Uses of Technology
Pique Fund Backs MuseFind in its Seed Round

Vancouver, BC (May 22, 2017) – Increasingly, consumers are blocking advertisements on their digital devices and as shared in an article on Bloomberg.com, $255 million is spent on influencer marketing every month.

Pique Fund is excited to announce that it has invested in marketing technology company MuseFind Technologies, led by CEO Jennifer Li. MuseFind is a SaaS company that enables brands and companies to market their products effectively through influencer marketers on MuseFind’s platform.

Serving established brands such as Vayner Media, Oreo, and Aden + Anaïs, as well as up-and-coming brands, MuseFind is becoming the authority on influencer marketing. With over 1 million influencers on their platform, an estimated 70% of those influencers are women.

Pique Fund is an inclusive angel fund focusing on leadership diversity. With close to 20 years of experience in finance and investing, Chief Investment Innovator of Pique Ventures, Bonnie Foley-Wong started Pique Fund when she noticed a gap in her field. “Our economy and society benefits from greater leadership diversity and from investing in a more purposeful and impactful way,” said Foley-Wong. “MuseFind have developed a smart technology to become one of the leading influencer marketing companies in the industry. And they are doing it in a thoughtful way that’s making a difference in people’s lives – an accomplishment that most other people overlook.”

Pique Fund’s impact lens and application of the decision-making framework for impact investing called Integrated Investing enabled it to hone in on the financial and impact potential of MuseFind. “MuseFind is an example of how a venture can have positive impact through its supply chain and business culture,” added Foley-Wong.

MuseFind CEO Jennifer Li said that the inspiration, business building skills, and connections that Pique Fund has shared with her have been invaluable. “From building our financial acumen to coffee catch-ups to sharing their network with us, Pique Fund’s investment beyond just funding has been inspirational,” said Li. “It’s exciting to experience a women-led fund like Pique supporting diverse tech startups in Canada.”

Presently, 24 of Pique Fund’s 29 investors are women. The addition of MuseFind grows the fund’s portfolio to six companies, including Mesh, Beanworks, ePACT Network, Wearable Therapeutics (makers of Snug Vest), and myBestHelper – all founded by women.

Pique Fund continues to support women in technology, advocate for impact investing and promote leadership diversity in the venture community. We are committed to this strategy and believe it is an opportunity for both financial success and positive impact, in particular for women entrepreneurs and investors.
