As I get ready to head to Connecticut for Convergence XVI: Gender Lens Investing, hosted by Criterion Institute, colleagues in the #genderlensinv community, Jackie VanderBrug and Sarah Kaplan published this article in the Stanford Social Innovation Review.

One of the themes I’m noticing in the impact investing space is the (re)-emergence of capital pools and funds focused on community economic development. The Nova Scotia CEDIF caught my attention this month.

In Ontario, community bonds are taking off. I heard through the grapevine that the Centre for Social Innovation is making another offering of community bonds soon. Their first offering helped fund their expansion to New York, to open CSI Starrett-Lehigh.
